【Importance】Resumption of events and Reopening of the Library【Updated April 19th, 2021】

Events, such as Viewings and Story telling are resumed from Tuesday, April 20th.
Please check the 「Events」.
Please note that events might be cancelled or postponed due to current situation.

The library are open with certain restrictions from Tuesday, March 23rd.
Regarding service restrictions, notifications will be made via the official website and twitter as required, so please check and be aware of these restrictions.

Requests to those visiting the library

We kindly ask for your cooperation.

Also, as a preparatory measure in the event that an infection outbreak occurs at the library, please ensure that you fill in the “Contact information” when visiting the library.

In order to prevent infection from droplets in the air from coughing or sneezing, the library is strongly enforcing infection-spread prevention measures such as the use of protective plastic sheeting, masks, and proper hand-washing and sanitation, etc.

Service Restrictions (Kumagaya Library・Kuki Library)

  • Reference Services
    Please apply via the website・telephone・FAX・post・or at library.
  • Viewing newspapers
    The placement and viewing location for some materials has been moved.
  • Requests for materials currently not in our possession
    This service will start from March 23rd.
  • Internet information terminals, database terminals
    The above devices may be used for a limited time. Currently, the number of devices available for use has been reduced.
  • Microfilm readers and printers, audiovisual booths and reading magnifiers.
    The above devices may be used for up to 3hrs per person each day.
  • Library seating and desks
    A portion or all of these are currently unavailable for use.
  • Snack corner
    Currently only drinking is permitted.

Services (Urawa Bunshitsu (circulation point) Saitama Prefectural Archives 1F)

The main entrance to the prefectural archives is currently locked. Please ring the doorbell at the employee’s entrance (around the back). An employee will assist you shortly.
In order to prevent the spread of infection by New Coronavirus, all visitors are required to undergo a temperature check prior to entering the facility. (Relative to the results of your test, you may be unable to enter the facility, however, someone will assist you outside.)

  • Database terminals
    Are available for use for a limited time.
  • Viewing seats
    A portion of these are currently unavailable for use.

For first-time visitors

Materials are not stored at the Urawa Bunshitsu (circulation point). It is a counter for viewing, borrowing, and returning prefectural library materials. However, even those who are not registered to utilize services can make reservations via telephone, etc.
